Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it when you book a puja with DevPravas.

This Privacy Policy explains how DevPravas ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use devpravas.in to book a live-streamed puja, order prasad, or otherwise interact with our services. By using our website, you agree to the collection and use of information in line with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you book a puja or contact us, we may collect the following information:

  • Name and gotra: used for the sankalp (ritual declaration) performed on your behalf by the pandit.
  • Phone number and WhatsApp number: used to confirm your booking, send you the pre-puja name/gotra voice note for approval, and share live puja links and updates.
  • Email address: used to send booking confirmations, receipts, and important service updates.
  • Postal address: used solely to ship your prasad (Aashirwad box) to you where applicable.
  • Country: used to route your booking correctly, apply relevant shipping and payment options, and account for time zone when scheduling your live puja.
  • Payment details: collected and processed by our payment processing partner at the time of booking. DevPravas does not directly store your full card or bank details on its own servers.
  • Usage and device information: such as pages visited, browser type, and approximate location, collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools described in Section 6.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Fulfil your puja booking, confirming details, scheduling the pandit, and preparing the sankalp with your correct name and gotra.
  • Communicate with you over WhatsApp, phone, or email regarding booking confirmations, the name/gotra voice-note approval, live puja links, and post-puja updates.
  • Pack, dispatch, and track the shipment of prasad to your postal address.
  • Process payment for your booking through our payment processing partner.
  • Respond to questions or support requests you send us.
  • Understand how devotees use our website so we can improve navigation, content, and the overall booking experience.
  • Meet legal, accounting, or regulatory record-keeping requirements.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We share specific pieces of your information only where necessary to deliver the service you booked:

  • On-site pandits receive your name and gotra so the sankalp can be performed correctly on your behalf, and your WhatsApp number if a voice-note approval or live coordination is needed.
  • Courier partners receive your name, phone number, and postal address so they can deliver your prasad and provide you with tracking updates.
  • Our payment processing partner receives your payment details directly to securely process your transaction. We do not have access to your full card or bank account numbers.
  • Service providers who help us operate the website (for example, hosting and analytics providers) may process limited technical data strictly on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal authorities may receive information where we are required to disclose it by applicable law, court order, or governmental request.

Any party we share your information with is expected to use it only for the purpose it was shared for, and to handle it securely.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil your booking, respond to any related queries, and comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Once information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise it.

5. Your Rights

You may ask us to:

  • Provide access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct any information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your personal information, subject to any legal or accounting obligations that require us to retain certain records.
