How your Rudrabhishek is performed

Your pandit opens the video call from inside the temple premises and shows the Shiva Lingam and surroundings.

Sankalp is taken aloud with your name, gotra and intention read from a card visible on camera.

Panchamrit abhishek is performed in sequence, milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar, followed by Ganga jal.

Bilva patra, vibhuti and chandan offerings are made, followed by mantra chanting and aarti.

Dress Code
- White or light-coloured cotton clothing is traditional for Shiva worship; ideal if you're following along at home
- Avoid black clothing on the day of a Shiva abhishekam
- Remove leather belts, wallets or footwear near any accompanying puja space at home
- Freshly washed clothes are preferred over new, unwashed garments
Rules & Guidelines
Before the Puja
- Share your name and gotra at least a day before your slot for accurate sankalp
- Avoid non-vegetarian food, alcohol and tobacco from the previous evening
- Bathe and wear clean clothes before joining the live stream
- Keep a small cup of milk or water nearby if you'd like to offer alongside the priest
During the Puja
- Join 10 minutes early to confirm your video connection with our team
- Remain seated attentively through the abhishekam and mantra chanting
- Keep hands folded during the aarti and avoid phone calls or distractions
- Personal recording is welcome only at the points our host indicates
After the Puja
- Consume the prasad within the window noted on the courier slip, usually within a week
- Apply the sacred vibhuti (ash) as guided by the priest, typically on the forehead
- Continue any Shiva mantra japa the priest recommends for ongoing benefit
- Keep your recording and receipt for future reference
