Frequently asked
Why can't Pind Daan be performed at home?
Pind Daan is traditionally offered on the banks of a sacred, flowing river, because the moving water is believed essential to carry the offerings onward to the ancestors. It is not performed at a home altar; our priest performs it on-site on the ghats in Ujjain, on your behalf.
What if my family's Shraadh tithi falls before I can arrange travel?
This is exactly the gap we exist to close. Shraadh tithis fall on a specific lunar date each year and can't be postponed for travel or leave approval, our priest performs your Pind Daan on the correct tithi in Ujjain while you watch live, from anywhere in the world.
How do you decide which ancestors to name in the sankalp?
At booking we collect the names and relationship of each ancestor you wish to honor, typically father, grandfather and great-grandfather on the paternal line, with equivalent maternal-line names if needed. Up to three generations are included per package; additional generations can be added.
I don't know my exact gotra, can I still book?
Yes. Share whatever family details you have when booking and our priest will help confirm your gotra beforehand, or recommend the customary Vedic gotra used for such ceremonies when a family's own gotra has been lost over generations.
When is Pitru Paksha 2026?
Pitru Paksha 2026 runs from 27 September to 10 October 2026. Shraadh is offered on the tithi (lunar day) on which your ancestor passed away, and Pind Daan or Tarpan can be booked on any day of this period. Share your ancestor's details when you book and our coordinator confirms the correct tithi and a live slot for you.
